CICA apologises for sexual abuse compensation refusal (9 November 2017)

A man known as HND, now 20, experienced grooming from the age of 13 which resulted in sexual abuse. Following prosecution against the men who were charged with abusing him, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA) refused his claim for compensation on the grounds that he consented.
