The Tier 1 investor route allowing and encouraging high net worth individuals to invest in the UK will be suspended until further notice from midnight on Friday 7th December 2018 due to a crackdown to combat organised crime, money laundering and corruption. The investor route will reopen for applications in 2019 (no specific date given) with changes to the requirements where applicants would be required to provide detailed and comprehensive audit trails illustrating the source of funds.
