An employee at a cosmetics factory has been jailed after pilfering thousands of pounds worth of beauty products, which were sold on eBay.

The Daily Mail reports that 36-year-old Radoslaw Orzgowicz from Portsmouth stole 50 products a day from the Estée Lauder factory for an eBay business.

The court heard he progressed to “stealing to order” and passed the items on to accomplices Dariusz Suski, 32, and Joanna Lazarska, 33, who paid him a total of £62,000 for stealing the beauty products.

The court was told that the Suski and Lazarska had an Aladdin's Cave of Estée Lauder, Clinique and other products at their Southsea home.

Ozgowicz admitted to being one of the couple’s suppliers and was jailed at Portsmouth Crown Court for two years, after he admitted theft, as well as conspiring to transfer and convert criminal property.

Initially he sold the products he stole on eBay himself – before supplying Suski and Lazarska with cosmetic and perfume products. He continued to steal from the firm’s factory between January 2011 and September 11, 2013.

Ozgowicz’s lawyer told the court his client had been £15,000 in debt and had shown genuine remorse for his crime.

“The reason why he committed these offences was because he developed an addiction to cocaine and amphetamine; and then was trying, first of all, to gamble his way out of trouble. When that didn’t work he turned to crime. He has managed to overcome his addiction to drugs,” he said.

At a previous court hearing, Suski was jailed for four years and Lazarska for two years. Others involved in the scam were also jailed.
