Profile / Experience
I am a Director of the Criminal Defence Department at Duncan Lewis in the firm's Harrow office having joined in January 2018. I supervise a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers. I have 10 years of criminal defence experience thanks to my time at Noble Solicitors.
I am a Higher Courts Advocate and I have extensive experience in a wide range of areas, from motoring offences to murder cases. I have particular experience in dealing with violent offences and I have also dealt with dishonesty and sex cases for numerous years. I have been Junior Counsel in multiple murder cases as well as lengthy and complex fraud trials. I have also conducted trials involving Sexual Offences including both Rape and Sexual Assault.
I have assisted clients from a diverse set of backgrounds and means and as a result I am comfortable and capable of working with people from all walks of life. A particularly notable case involved representing an ex-councillor who had been charged with rape and multiple sexual assaults. The complainant was disabled and extremely vulnerable making it a highly sensitive and upsetting case for all involved. The allegations made were of the utmost seriousness and, if convicted, the defendant would have lost everything. The defendant was acquitted of all counts.
I assist clients on both a private fee basis and on legal aid. I am Police Station Accredited which means that I can advise and assist clients at police stations. I am also a Duty Qualified Solicitor which means that I have demonstrated and continue to maintain a high level of knowledge, skill, experience and practice in the area of criminal litigation.
My work primarily consists of Crown Court Work, however I do attend the Court of Appeal on occasion.
