Sussex Glamour Girl Charged With Benefit Fraud (15 September 2011)

Glamour model and mother-of-two Dionne Stenner, 29, from East Sussex, has been ordered to pay £1,315 for fraudulently claiming in excess of £7,000 in benefits. At the time of claiming benefits, Miss Stenner was earning a salary from presenting raunchy television channels under the stage name Morgan James. Outside court, Miss Stenner claimed to be "mortified" by her actions. Miss Stenner said that claiming benefits was something that she regretted and added that she had “not tried to hide anything."
Brighton and Hove Magistrates Court heard that Miss Stenner received up to £350 per night presenting and earned a total salary of £18,000 between March and October of last year. Miss Stenner admitted that she had failed to notify both the Department for Work and Pensions and Brighton and Hove City Council regarding her change in financial circumstances. Prosecutor Jessica Clarke reported that Miss Stenner had illegally claimed £7,782 in Housing benefit, income support, and council tax benefit. Her Crimes came to the attention of the authorities after her former boyfriend reported her for fraud, the court heard.
