I started working at Duncan Lewis since August 2017 as an immigration caseworker. I am currently working in the immigration department at Duncan Lewis and my role involves assisting with asylum and immigration matters, having passed the Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme's Level 2 exam. I currently work under the direct supervision of Public Law Director and Solicitor, Bahar Ata. I have previously worked under supervision at legal placements regarding asylum and immigration matters, which are mentioned below.
I have extensive expertise when it comes to asylum work, Human Rights and Appeals, as well as dealing with individuals in relation to settling, working and studying in the UK. In my previous work placements, I was responsible for many private cases, particularly in relation to spouse visas. I have carried out tasks such as submitting appeal bundles, bail matters and further submissions as a fresh claim.
I have a great passion in dealing with asylum and immigration matters and I aim to continue to do so in the future.
Outside of work hours, I run a charity on a voluntary basis called Move For Humanity, where me and my charity team work together to help provide aid to refugees across Europe, as well as helping secure them financially for the long term. I am in contact with different NGO’s such as The British Red Cross who work on the ground to help the refugees, especially in Greece and Turkey. I am occasionally notified of any emergency aid required through the contacts I know who are working at the camps mainly in Greece and Turkey.
