Police officers charged following Kingsley Burrell custody death (20 October 2016)
The Crown Prosecution Service (‘CPS’) has announced there is now "sufficient evidence to charge" the West Midlands officers who had been involved in the restraint of Mr Kingsley Burrell hours before his death in 2011. The matter had been referred to the CPS in 2014 but it had concluded there was insufficient evidence to establish a prosecution. Read more...
