Meena Kumari

I am a Family & Childcare Director and Solicitor. I work regionally across our Bradford and Manchester branches, with a wealth of experience in complex children cases with an international element or where the children have special needs. I actively encourage parents to resolve disputes regarding their children in a non-confrontational manner.

I have particular expertise in negotiating medium to high net financial settlements for clients in the course of separation, divorce and dissolution of civil partnership. This is an area of family law which can require a tenacious and proactive approach as well as meticulous attention to detail as failing to address difficult and complex financial issues promptly can lead to lengthy and costly delays. I have represented high profile individuals in achieving a beneficial result.

I believe in adopting a proactive rather than a reactive approach to family law in each of its very different facets and strive to ensure that what is often a very difficult situation for clients is not made more difficult by reason of inaction or lack of foresight. I have a passion for advocacy and represent the majority of my clients’ at every court hearing.

I am an active member of the Law Society’s Family Panel (Advanced) and in 2015 I joined the Law Society Law management section where I share my management knowledge and skills amongst other members in the profession. I have also trained as a collaborative lawyer. I am passionate about providing a voice to the most vulnerable in society. I have historically set up legal surgeries and clinics to assist these individuals.

I am fluent in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu and can converse in French and Creole.
