Ikrah's Domestic Violence Profile / Experience
I am a Family and Childcare Caseworker. I work in the Birmingham office under the supervision of Solicitor Henna Sajid.
Alongside working on Private and Public Children Law matters, I also support victims of domestic abuse in their applications for Legal Aid for Domestic Abuse, Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.
I have extensive prior experience in this through working as a family paralegal at a firm which specialised in domestic abuse before coming to Duncan Lewis. This included obtaining emergency Non-Molestation Orders under the Family Act 1996 for victims of domestic abuse, and representing clients in ex-parte and return hearings in Courts across the West Midlands. The work I undertook also included preparing FL401 applications to send to the Court and submitting Legal Aid applications to CCMS. I also assisted clients in completing Court directions, such as Schedules of Allegations, and Witness Statements. I have carried forward what I have learnt during this experience to Duncan Lewis, and am keen to help victims of domestic violence obtain court protection for themselves and their children.
