Duncan Lewis, Public Law Solicitors, Angela Sandhal Featured in LexisNexis with Public Law Case Analysis

Angela Sandhal, Director of Court of Protection and Public Law at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, has written a case analysis article for LexisNexis examining the recent Administrative Court decision in R (Sex Matters) v Corporation of London.

The article considers a number of important procedural and public law issues arising from the case, including judicial review procedure, standing, prematurity, and the availability of alternative remedies under the Equality Act 2010.

Angela’s analysis focuses on the Administrative Court’s decision at first instance to refuse permission for judicial review proceedings on preliminary grounds, including whether a campaign organisation was the appropriate claimant and whether the issues raised were more properly dealt with within the specialist jurisdiction of the County Court. The article also notes subsequent developments in the proceedings, including the Court of Appeal, on appeal, granting permission for the claim for judicial review to proceed.

The commentary explores the wider implications of the judgment for public law practitioners, strategic litigation, and organisations considering the procedural route for claims involving alleged discrimination and public law decision-making.

Angela regularly advises on complex public law and Court of Protection matters and contributes commentary on developing areas of administrative and public law practice.
