Time Limitation



  • If you were aged 18 or over at the time of being involved in an accident, then you have 3 years from the date of the accident to commence your claim.
  • If you were aged under 18 when the accident happened you have until your 21st birthday to start a claim.
  • In general terms, you have 3 years to start a claim from the date you first initially realised that you were injured through the fault of a third party
  • On some occasions, the court has discretion to allow claims to commence past these time limits.
Violent Crimes
