On the hottest day of the year, 9 ladies from Duncan Lewis braved the hot summer sunshine to run around the 5km Race for Life. They were part of 4,000 ladies in pink, of which most were racing in memories of loved ones. It was an uplifting and a joyous experience as we all felt we were doing our part in helping raise awareness and more importantly raising funds for preventions and cures for cancer. Our aim was to get the fastest time but the heat made it almost impossible to keep going.
Although we were dreaming of a swimming pool to dive into once we had finished the race we were content with cheerleaders encouraging us at the end and free massages which eased our aching feet.
