We’re excited to share a new video with Emily Reed, Director of Family & Child Care at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, where she reflects on her career journey, her passion for mentoring the next generation of lawyers, and her plans for supporting clients across Manchester and our new office in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emily first joined Duncan Lewis nine years ago and speaks in the video about her career progression through the firm:

“I feel really proud to reach this point. It’s been a real journey professionally and personally, and I’m truly grateful to the teams I’ve worked in and the wider firm for all the opportunities.”

Supporting Clients and Colleagues

While Emily has dealt with a wide range of complex and challenging cases throughout her career, what stands out most to her is the opportunity to support and inspire others in the profession:

“The most rewarding parts of my career has been seeing junior lawyers join the team, get their training contracts, qualify, and progress through their roles. To be part of that has been really rewarding.”

Building our presence in Stoke-on-Trent

The video also highlights Emily’s excitement for the work ahead at our new Stoke-on-Trent office, located in the community where she grew up:

“I’m really excited to start the new office in Stoke-on-Trent. That’s where I’m from, so I’m looking forward to bringing all the good work Duncan Lewis do back to the people of that area.”

Advice for Future Lawyers

Emily closes with some words of encouragement for aspiring lawyers:

“Lean on your teammates and learn from them. Ask questions, get as much experience as you can, and don’t be afraid to be ambitious.”
