Duncan Lewis Solicitors are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Family & Child Care Solicitor Emily Wright to the Law Society’s Children Law Panel.

Legal 500 “Top Tier” firm Duncan Lewis Solicitors are pleased to announce the appointment of Family and Child Care Law Solicitor Emily Wright to the Law Society Advanced Children Law Panel.

The Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation scheme covers all types of Children Law work. Members of the Accreditation scheme will have exhibited and maintained a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice to the satisfaction of the Law Society in selected specialist areas of Children Law and the representation of children. Emily’s outstanding achievements in Child Care Law allow her to now join 31 other Panel members within Duncan Lewis’ UK-wide Child Care Law departments.

Emily said of her appointment; “I am very pleased to have been successfully admitted onto the Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation Scheme and am excited about the new opportunities that this will allow me.”

Joining Duncan Lewis in 2013, Emily works in the Family and Child Care department at the firm’s Croydon office. She represents parents, children, and other family members in court proceedings including applications for Care Orders, Special Guardianship Orders, Child Arrangement Orders, Specific Issue and Prohibited Steps Orders. Outside of court proceedings, she regularly provide advice to clients about all of these issues and in particular assist parents where the local authority are involved and are considering issuing care proceedings.

Emily has represented parents in care proceedings covering various issues including sexual abuse, physical abuse, non-accidental injuries, neglect, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health difficulties. Emily also has vast experience in representing clients experiencing mental health difficulties, clients for whom English is not their first language, clients with learning difficulties and other vulnerabilities. Emily has also conducted court proceedings in all levels of court, including the High Court.
