Duncan Lewis has maintained a constant commitment to support career progression within the firm, assisting with the formal training of new legal professionals within the legal aid world environment. This is under pinned by Gold IIP, Lexcel accreditation and a number of legal aid franchises.
We believe that the size of our business, the opportunity to offer different seats, our strong processes and commitment to training makes Duncan Lewis the ideal environment to begin a legal career and quality as a solicitor. Duncan Lewis will have a winter trainee intake for 10 internal candidates and a number of external positions available to candidates with additional accreditation and extended experience (minimum 18 months) in the areas of Immigration, Family and Housing. Duncan Lewis remain committed to the training of a new generation of solicitors and have submitted an application to the SRA to have an increased number of training contracts available from 2011 in order to support recent graduates seeking to progress their legal career.
Noemi Ares-Birch , HR Director at Duncan Lewis comments "Duncan Lewis is very pleased with the outcome of the winter intake of trainee solicitors and is delighted that the SRA have commented on the high standard of training and support we provide to our trainee solicitors. We have always endeavoured to maximise training opportunities, extending these in the past to welcoming trainees on secondment from external bodies (Crime Prosecution Service and Shelter). Duncan Lewis is unique in our commitment to social welfare and provides exposure to a number of areas of law rarely seen within a high street practice. Our existing Solicitors, Partners and Directors participate in ensuring that trainees benefit from high quality supervision, effective processes and receive support throughout their training programme. Supervision, access to regular training, coaching on-the-job and effective mentoring are all fundamental parts of training to be a solicitor. Duncan Lewis is proud to provide these to all of our trainees."
