Duncan Lewis Solicitors is pleased to announce that Micheal McKee has re-joined the firm’s award-winning Crime Department as a solicitor, bringing with him an impressive track record in criminal and extradition law.
Micheal originally trained at Duncan Lewis, completing his training contract with distinction in 2018, during which he specialised in fraud, extradition, and Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) matters. His return marks a homecoming to the firm where his legal career began and where his exceptional analytical acumen and dedication to client care first flourished.
Over the years, Micheal has built a formidable reputation in multijurisdictional and high-profile cases, particularly in the field of extradition. He has represented clients at all stages of criminal proceedings, including Magistrates' Court trials, Crown Court advocacy, and full extradition hearings. His career includes key victories such as defeating a Part 2 extradition request from Brazil, successfully defeating a number of requests through co-ordinating transfer of sentence or compromising the extradition request, and progressing multiple matters to the appeal and judicial review stages.
Micheal is well-known for his ability to handle complex legal arguments and advise a broad range of clients, from professionals to the most vulnerable, with equal care and expertise. His published work in Criminal Law & Justice Weekly and CrimeLine on issues such as search warrants and simple cautions further reflects his standing in the legal community.
“We’re delighted to welcome Micheal back to Duncan Lewis, where he will lead our extradition practice area, “ said Sunjay Versani, Director of Crime at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. “His breadth of experience, commitment to justice, and client-focused approach align perfectly with our values, and he will join a team committed to providing exceptional representation in even the most challenging criminal and extradition cases.”
Micheal will be based in the firm’s London offices and will work closely with the wider Crime team on both private and publicly funded matters.
