Duncan Lewis Charity and Social Committee joined forces to hold the first Duncan Lewis sports day/picnic. The Social Committee provided food and drink and also held a tombola; and the Charity Committee organised the track and field events form the more traditional track and field events to the slightly abstract events like welly throwing and the egg and spoon race. The entire event was a success with over £500 being raised for the chosen charity Young Minds.
The tombola was filled with prizes kindly donated by local businesses and restaurants near each office and from chambers. Prizes included annual Taste London membership, £100 cash, Half price hair cuts for Headmasters Salon’s, Dinner and lunches for two at various eateries near to each office, Mark’s and Spencer vouchers, Fitness First membership passes, a ride in a Ferrari, and much more. Duncan Lewis thanks all of those who made such generous donations to the tombola to help raise £240 in the tombola. Personalised thank you cards have also been sent to all contributors.
The Charity Committee held an impressive event with staff competing in the 100m, 200m, 800m and relay track events. There was also the egg and spoon race, skipping and the three legged race to enjoy. Field events were also organised with the high jump and long jump. Duncan Lewis staff also brought family along with them which allowed there to be a kid’s race as well making the event a full family occasion.
Overall over £500 was raised for Young Minds. The event was an enjoyable day for all of Duncan Lewis and the Charity Committee are looking to hold an annual Duncan Lewis sports day. Pictures from Duncan Lewis sport’s day and picnic can be viewed here
