Duncan Lewis will be sponsoring the St Luke’s Hospice networking event on Wednesday 12th June between 5:30pm and 8pm at the Harrow Civic Centre. The event will be both an opportunity for professionals to network and to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

St Luke’s Hospice cares for people within the Harrow and Brent communities whose illnesses are no longer curable. The work they carry out ensures that patients receive expert end-of-life care with compassion and dignity. They help to empower patients to enjoy the best possible quality of life, knowing that their family and carers are supported too. St Luke’s cares for people in their Woodgrange Day Centre, at their In Patient Unit and in patients’ own homes, aiming to work alongside GPs, community teams, nursing homes and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest levels of care for patients at all times.

At Duncan Lewis, we believe firmly in supporting local charities and causes. As a trusted and reputable charity whose key values of excellence, teamwork, inclusivity and empowerment of the community are shared by us, the decision to partner with St Luke’s was an easy one as the work they carry out is invaluable to the community.

Solicitors from a range of our Harrow based departments will be attending the event to meet with people and answer any questions they may have about the firm and our services. They include Caroline Roche, director of the wills and probate department, and Simi Gupta a wills and probate Legal Executive. They will be joined by housing director Manjinder Kaur Atwal, private/business immigration director Tamana Aziz, and solicitor Shabana Masood from the litigation and personal injury departments.

The event is hosted by The Mayor of Harrow, The Worshipful Councillor Nitin Parekh, and will feature inspirational speakers discussing end-of-life care and the importance of support for the future of St Luke’s Hospice. Caroline will be delivering a speech on the work that we do at Duncan Lewis and why we are sponsoring the event and partnering with St Luke’s.

There is a rapidly increasing demand for the expert end-of-life care that St Luke’s Hospice offers. They rely on the generosity of donations for over two thirds of their funding; such support means that they can continue to deliver free care for local people in Harrow and Brent. All profits from the event go to St Luke’s Hospice. All donations to the hospice make a huge difference, for example, £30 can fund a bereavement support session for someone who has lost a loved one, and £40 can help relieve symptoms of pain, breathlessness, nausea or anxiety by covering the cost of a complementary therapy session.
