We are pleased to announce that Duncan Lewis has opened a new office in Manchester, located at Office Number 316, 82 King Street, Manchester, M2 4WQ. Based in the city centre on King Street, the office will be the home of an immigration and public law department and a family and child care department, headed by solicitors Saul Stone and Emily Reed respectively who have both moved from their London based offices in order to front the new teams.

Our aim is to offer the people of Manchester and the surrounding areas in northwest England the high-quality, expert legal advice, at a range of funding options that we provide to clients throughout our additional 14 offices across England and Wales.

Saul Stone is a solicitor within the immigration and public law departments and has a particular expertise in human trafficking cases. His work involves developing strategic litigation with a focus on access to justice and victims of trafficking; civil actions against public authorities including the Home Office, the police and other public bodies; and judicial review applications in relation to unlawful detention and human rights breaches. He assists client with all aspects of their immigration and asylum claims at both the Upper Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

Family law solicitor Emily Reed focuses on children work including both private and public law cases. Her experience includes representing parents in cases involving chronic neglect, drug and alcohol abuse, mental health concerns such as personality disorders, non-accidental injuries, and cases involving children beyond parental control including violent and inappropriate sexual behaviour. She has significant experience in handling cases involving sensitive issues such as physical abuse against children and serious domestic abuse. She also represents clients in wardship, Hague and non-Hague child abduction matters and cases of FGM.

The Duncan Lewis immigration department is ranked in the 2019 edition of The Legal 500 described as ‘…not afraid to challenge accepted norms, take risks in advancement of its clients’ case and push boundaries in the clients’ favour.’ The department handles a wide range of immigration, asylum, and nationality matters including high-profile claimant judicial review cases.

Our family department is also ranked in the 2019 edition of The Legal 500 and is a 'Recognised Practitioner' in the 2019 edition of Chambers & Partners UK for their family/matrimonial work in Birmingham and the surrounds. Its expertise covers divorce and matrimonial cases, with notable expertise in representing domestic abuse victims under legal aid. It also handles public law and cross-border issues concerning children, and has niche sharia-law expertise.
