Duncan Lewis, Main Solicitors, Duncan Lewis Solicitors named Finalists for Children’s Team of the Year

We are delighted to announce that Duncan Lewis Solicitors has been named a Finalist for Children’s Team of the Year at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards 2026.

The Family Law Awards celebrate excellence and outstanding achievement across the family law community, recognising the vital contribution made by family lawyers in supporting and advocating for children and families. With an increasing number of high-calibre entries each year, being shortlisted is a significant achievement for our national Child Care team.

With 18 Family and Child Care Directors and 128 specialist fee-earners nationwide, our Child Care team is one of the largest dedicated children’s law teams in the UK. Over the past year, we have continued to strengthen our national presence, establishing new teams in offices across the country and further expanding access to specialist children’s law services. This growth has been supported by the promotion of four Family and Child Care Directors, reflecting our commitment to developing talent and maintaining excellence within the team.

Our lawyers are regularly instructed in some of the most complex and sensitive children’s law proceedings, including cases involving non-accidental injury, fabricated or induced illness, child fatalities, sexual abuse, forced marriage, female genital mutilation, deprivation of liberty and international child protection. We also handle Hague and non-Hague international child abduction cases.

At the heart of our work is a commitment to providing exceptional client care and ensuring that vulnerable children, parents and guardians can meaningfully participate in the legal process. Our team provides out-of-hours emergency support for urgent safeguarding matters, while our ability to communicate in more than 60 languages helps us support clients from diverse backgrounds.

Our commitment extends beyond our casework. During 2025, the Family and Child Care team recorded work on 133 pro bono matters and continued to deliver advice clinics with charities supporting vulnerable families. We also support university family law clinics, helping to provide free legal advice while giving the next generation of lawyers valuable practical experience.

We are also committed to sharing knowledge and strengthening the wider children’s law community. From hosting the Stoke-on-Trent Children Law Forum, attended by more than 100 professionals, to our Navigating Family Law Podcast and public legal education initiatives, we seek to contribute positively to the development of children’s law and improve understanding of the family justice system.

This shortlisting is a wonderful recognition of the dedication, expertise and compassion of our Child Care team. We would like to thank our clients, professional partners and colleagues for their continued trust and support, and congratulate all the other finalists.

The winners will be announced at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards ceremony on Wednesday 18 November 2026 at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London.

We look forward to celebrating with colleagues across the family law community and wish all finalists the very best of luck.
