Duncan Lewis Solicitors is delighted to announce that we have been shortlisted for Responsible Business: Outstanding Firm Pro Bono at the Chambers Awards 2025, taking place on Wednesday, 26th November 2025 at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

 This recognition reflects our long-standing commitment to ensuring access to justice for society’s most vulnerable and our ethos that “we give people a voice.” Pro bono work is deeply woven into the fabric of Duncan Lewis, driven by the extraordinary efforts of our lawyers, directors, and support teams across the firm.

 Our Pro Bono Commitment

 From supporting survivors of domestic abuse and neurodivergent families navigating the family courts, to providing wills for the over-55s through national charity partnerships, our initiatives span multiple practice areas.

Key highlights include:

•  Pro Bono Leadership – Family and Child Care Director Emine Mehmet oversees several pro bono legal advice surgeries in partnership with charities such as Women’s Aid. She also co-founded a pioneering Family Law Clinic with the University of East London, providing vital legal support to underserved clients while offering students hands-on training and mentorship. 

• Wills and Probate – partnerships with Cancer Research UK, Will Aid, and Free Wills Month, providing affordable will-drafting services. 

• Housing and Employment Clinics – Our Housing and Employment teams regularly collaborate with Citizens Advice and women’s organisations to deliver essential free legal advice. 

• Individual Recognition – several of our lawyers, including Harriet Phillips and Ivan Dimitrov, feature in the Pro Bono Recognition List 2025 for delivering more than 25 hours of pro bono service.

Our firm has been consistently recognised for our pro bono work, winning Pro Bono Team of the Year at the Modern Law Awards 2024 and the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025. This shortlisting at the Chambers Awards further reflects the impact of our ongoing work in bridging gaps in access to justice.
