Duncan Lewis Shortlisted for Case of the Year and Innovation Modern Law Awards 2025 (27 January 2025)

We are delighted to announce that Duncan Lewis Solicitors has been shortlisted for two categories at the prestigious Clio Modern Law Awards 2025: Innovation of the Year and Case of the Year.

The Case of the Year nomination acknowledges the landmark success of our Public Law team’s judicial review challenge against the government over the failure to increase legal aid fees since 1996. This case led to the Lord Chancellor announcing an increase of 10–30% in controlled work fees for immigration, asylum, housing, and debt. This victory marks a fantastic result for our public law team and for the legal aid sector, addressing decades of underfunding and providing renewed hope for vulnerable individuals, including asylum seekers and survivors of domestic violence.

The Innovation of the Year nomination celebrates the transformative work of Family Law Advice for the Neurodivergent Community (FLANC). Founded in 2024, FLANC has pioneered a fairer, more inclusive family justice system for neurodivergent individuals, advocating for compulsory training, best practices, and systemic reform to improve accessibility and outcomes within family law proceedings.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 6th March 2025, at the stunning Vermilion in Manchester.

This recognition is a testament to the dedication and innovation of our teams, and we look forward to celebrating this incredible achievement.
