Legal 500 “Top Tier Firm” Duncan Lewis Solicitors raised over £1,100 at the London Legal Walk 2015 for the London Legal Support Trust law centres and pro bono agencies.
Duncan Lewis Solicitors joined over 9,000 participants in taking part in the record breaking 10 kilometre London Legal Walk on the 18th May 2015.
Organised by the London Legal Support Trust the London Legal walk is a yearly event. Participants take part in walking the 10km circular route, starting at the the London Legal Support Trust desks in Carey Street (near Chancery Lane) and ending in at the same location.
Funds raised from the event are used support free legal advice charities in London and the South East by walkers gaining sponsors and then law firms, chambers and companies add to that with matched funding or donations.
Several members of the teams at Duncan Lewis Solicitors took part in the event and through the company’s Justgiving page and their own Charity Committee Duncan Lewis raised over £1,100.
Anthony Okumah, Litigation Director said about the event; “We did it in order to support not-for-profit free legal advice agencies that are overwhelmed due to the drastic legal aid cuts".
Duncan Lewis Solicitors would like to thank everyone involved and for their donations. Funding for legal advice centres has reduced since the recession, coupled with constant cuts to Legal Aid mean that vital legal services for those most in need are becoming ever increasingly more limited. Events such as the the London Legal and the generosity of those donating play a huge role in supporting those in need of aid for humanitarian or social welfare legal advice .
