The Law Society Family Law Advanced Accreditation scheme covers specialist areas of Family Law work.
Members of the Advanced Accreditation Scheme will have exhibited and maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice to a level to the satisfaction of the Law Society in selected specialist areas of Family Law.

Ummar’s outstanding achievements in the area of Family Law mean that he now joins 41 Panel members of the Duncan Lewis Family and Child Care Law departments, including Vanket Appalakondiah and Simran Gupta.
Ummar said of his appointment;
“I am thrilled to have been appointed to the Law Society’s Advanced Family Panel so soon into my legal career. Such recognition will not only raise my profile but also that of the Duncan Lewis Family Department. The accreditation will allow me to add value to the Family Department and to further market myself and the Duncan Lewis brand. I am grateful to the Directors and Management at Duncan Lewis for giving me the opportunity to expand my knowledge and skills in the rapidly growing Family Department. I hope to continue to gain expertise in specialist areas of Family Law whilst elevating standards.”
Joining Duncan Lewis in September 2013, Ummar has advised clients in various children matters including Private and Public Law in addition to child abductions. He has assisted clients in obtaining child arrangement orders in addition to prohibited steps and specific issue orders. He has acted for parents in the prevention of removal of children from the jurisdiction and has negotiated the successful return of children from abroad.
Ummar undertakes as much advocacy as possible in directions, contested hearings including Fact Finding and Final Hearings. Ummar has represented clients at court in children, family cases including ancillary relief and personal injury. He has wide experience of cross examining parties, Local Authority representatives and experts.
