Aina Khan will deliver a presentation at the Islamic Law and Society Discussion Group of the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, University of Oxford on Wednesday 15th October 2014.
The Islamic Law and Society Discussion Group provides an opportunity for research students and academics to present their research and work-in-progress on issues related to Islamic law and social, political and economic issues among Muslim populations.
Aina’s talk is titled “Unregistered Muslim Marriages: A Ticking Time-Bomb?”. This lecture will explore the topic of unregistered marriages within the UK’s Muslim community and their legal impact.

This lecture will mark another milestone in Aina Khan’s Muslim Marriage project, which has included appearances on the BBC and the launch of a unique survey - created by Aina to gather vital information about UK Muslim marriages.

Aina Khan and Duncan Lewis Solicitors will be running a series of nationwide road shows in the coming months, as well as a social media campaign, providing vital information on unregistered marriages.
The Islamic Law and Society Discussion Group is open to all members of the University of Oxford.
