We are thrilled to announce that public law director Ahmed Aydeed has been nominated as Partner of the Year at the Birmingham Law Society (BLS) Awards.
The annual awards celebrate the fantastic work carried out by lawyers throughout the Midlands and the contribution they make to driving change in the delivery of justice.
According to BLS, the Partner of the Year award will be handed to someone who has made a “consistent and significant contribution both within their firm and more widely within the Birmingham legal community, shows strong leadership, a commitment to excellence, a proven ability to develop business from current or new clients and a commitment to the success of their firm and its people.”
As someone who is deeply committed to combatting modern slavery and human trafficking and driving positive change both within Duncan Lewis and in the justice system itself, we believe that Ahmed is more than worthy of being crowned Partner of the Year when the winners are announced at the end of the month.
Ahmed’s cases have consistently raised the profile of the vulnerable and brought great results which will have a long lasting benefit to the most marginalised people in society, including one in the high court which brought a landmark high court judgment in October 2021, which led to an important ruling that all trafficking victims should be granted leave to remain in the UK.
This nomination is recognition of the immense amount of work and dedication that Ahmed, and his team, put into creating a better future for vulnerable people who, without that support, would face our complex and intimidating legal system alone.
We would like to congratulate Ahmed on his nomination and wish him the best of luck.
