I am a Director of Performance reporting directly to the Board. I manage the Performance Management Team, comprising of a Performance Management Coordinator, two HR (Performance) Generalists, and Performance Assistants.
My role is to monitor and enforce the Performance Management Policy using daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly data. My role also assists fee earners understand the company's key performance indicators (KPIs), providing them with all the necessary and relevant information, feedback, and guidance in terms of performance management on a regular basis.
Prior to this I was a Director of Immigration and Head of Department at the firm's Luton office. I supervised a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers, based at the Harrow, Leicester, Milton Keynes, and Birmingham offices, all dedicated to representing the most vulnerable in society. I have over 20 years of experience in immigration and asylum law.
My work was concentrated on publicly funded clients with a particular focus on advising clients on immigration law, practice and policy, as well as coordinating and managing delivery of services to clients across multiple jurisdictions. My experience covered all aspects of immigration, nationality, asylum, and human rights law with emphasis on asylum-seekers, other vulnerable immigrants, deportation cases, minors, victims of torture and victims of trafficking. I have extensive experience in dealing with Judicial Review matters, detained asylum cases, bail applications, entry clearance applications, and conducting appeals against adverse decisions to the First-tier/Upper Tribunal of the Immigration Asylum Chamber. I have considerable experience of conducting advocacy before the immigration tribunals and I am a member of the Law Society's Immigration Law Practitioners' Association and the Refugee Council.
I have an enhanced CRB status, which permits me to represent unaccompanied asylum seeking children. I am also accredited under the Law Society IAAS as a Senior Level 2 Caseworker and Supervisor, which allows me to provide specialist legal representation under the firm's legal aid franchise.
I am fluent in Gujarati.
