Duncan Lewis Solicitors are pleased to announce that Immigration Solicitor Zafar Abbas has achieved the prestigious Law Society Level 3 Immigration and Asylum Advanced Accreditation.

The Immigration Law Advanced Accreditation Scheme covers all types of immigration law legal aid work. Members will have shown, to the satisfaction of the Law Society, that they have and will maintain a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in the area of immigration law, be that in private practice or working for an organisation regulated by the Office for the Legal Services Commissioner.

Zafar joins an elite group of only 47 Solicitors in the UK and Wales who have achieved this level of accreditation, which includes Duncan Lewis Immigration Directors James Packer, Adam Tear and Jenna Mckinney.

Zafar also holds qualification under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme as a Senior Caseworker (Level 2) and Supervisor since November 2011, which allows him to specialise in Immigration, Asylum, Nationality and Human Rights legal aid casework; as well as providing specialist legal help for publicly funded work under the firm’s Legal Aid Agency franchise. Zafar joined Duncan Lewis in February 2012.

Zafar has particular interest in Judicial review claimant matters involving in immigration, asylum and human rights issues. His case load covers vast spectrum of complex public law issues including unlawful detention, breach of policy, breach of legitimate expectation, administrative delay in decision making, unlawful removal/deportation, Dublin II/III removals, terrorism and breach of ECHR/CFR rights.
