Herefordshire Council is consulting on proposals to change the current social and affordable rented housing lettings system across the county, in partnership with Herefordshire’s housing associations.
The council is inviting the public to submit their views – the proposed changes aim to give customers greater choice, more direct access to homes managed by housing associations, easier access to the housing market through mobile technology and provide better value for money for the housing associations.
All submissions will be treated in strictest confidence – and the closing date for the public to submit their views either to the council or via their housing association is 15 March 2017.
The council says it wants to hear from those on the housing register, as well as those who have tried to register but have been turned down by HomePoint.
People considering moving into rented social or affordable housing in the future – or anyone who has experience of using the current lettings system for social housing, or who may be thinking of using it in the future, can also submit their opinions.
The results will be collated and published in April 2017.
