James specialises in Housing Law matters covering landlord and tenant, possession actions, homelessness, illegal evictions, disrepair, neighbour disputes, property disputes and harassment. James has an interest in duties owed by local authorities to those who are vulnerable and has experience in advising on homelessness and allocation rights. James is a duty solicitor for possession of rented and mortgaged properties in two London County Courts. He is also qualified under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme as a Senior Caseworker, which allows him to specialise in Immigration & Nationality law and provide specialist legal help for publicly funded work under the firm’s Legal Aid Agency franchise.
Appointed as a Director in the Duncan Lewis Housing Department James will be predominantly based in the company's London Lewisham office. He joins Directors Jamille Mohammed, Chambers 2016 “Leader in her Field” Dianne Cowie, Cardiff based Director Heather Rayner Iqbal and Legal 500 2015 recommended Solicitor S K Sivapunniyam in leading one of the largest housing law teams in the UK and contracted with the Legal Aid Agency to provide publicly funded housing law services to social tenants across the UK & Wales.
