Eastbourne Borough Council has launched a housing consultation on a new housing policy for the borough and Lewes District Council.
The councils are coming together to provide an enhanced single housing service for both areas under the new Homes First department.
As part of the initiative, the councils have updated and aligned their Housing Allocations Policies, to ensure staff work effectively and that their approach is consistent.
Cabinet Lead for Housing at Eastbourne Borough Council, Councillor Alan Shuttleworth, said:
“The policy explains who is eligible to join the Housing Registers, how applications are prioritised – and information on how to apply and bid for a home.
“It has been designed to benefit those with the most urgent housing needs – and we would welcome people’s feedback on it.”
Residents should visit the websites of their local council to offer their opinions on the new housing policy.
The consultation runs until 5pm on Monday August 14.
