We’re proud to spotlight Rebecca De Stefano, a Chartered Legal Executive at our firm, who has launched a compelling new video series aimed at supporting Spanish-speaking families navigating complex cross-border child disputes.
In this four-part series, available on our TikTok channel, Rebecca shares her expertise in family law, offering clear, practical guidance for parents dealing with international custody issues and potential child abduction scenarios. The videos are in Spanish with English subtitles, helping to reach and reassure a broader audience within our community.
In the first video, Rebecca introduces herself and addresses a question frequently asked by clients: What happens if one parent wants to move abroad with their child? She explains that if both parents have parental responsibility, or if there is an existing custody order, one parent cannot make this decision unilaterally. Consent from the other parent or a court order is legally required, otherwise, there could be serious international consequences.
Rebecca’s aim is twofold: to raise awareness about the legal implications of international moves involving children, and to make this critical information accessible to Spanish-speaking families who may be in difficult or unclear situations.
We invite you to follow the series on our TikTok here and share it with anyone who might benefit from it.
