Henna Sajid, Family and Child Care Solicitor at our Birmingham office, will be speaking at an upcoming event hosted by the Women in Law Society at the University of Leicester.
The event, titled "Legal Aid and Feminism", will take place on Tuesday, 24th February 2025 at 18:00 via Microsoft Teams, and is open to members of the Women in Law Society.
About the Event
The Women in Law Society at the University of Leicester is a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to empowering women in the legal field. The society creates a safe and inclusive space for women who are passionate about law and gender equality — particularly for those who may feel underrepresented or hesitant to engage in larger, mixed-gender settings.
At this event, Henna will be sharing her experiences as a solicitor working within legal aid, discussing topics including why she chose to offer legal aid services, what her day-to-day work entails, the importance and wider social significance of her work, and the challenges she faces in her practice. Henna will also be speaking about her work with women clients, including the types of cases she handles and the support she provides.
Supporting the Next Generation of Women in Law
Duncan Lewis Solicitors is proud to support initiatives that encourage and empower the next generation of women entering the legal profession. Henna's participation in this event reflects the firm's ongoing commitment to access to justice, community engagement, and the development of future legal talent.
We look forward to Henna sharing her invaluable insights and experiences with the members of the Women in Law Society.
