We are pleased to announce the recent internal appointments of Natasha Khakhar and Olamide Olayemi as directors within our child care and family departments.
Based in our Luton office, Natasha joined Duncan Lewis in August 2018 as a supervisor and oversees a team of solicitors, trainees, and caseworkers. She qualified as a solicitor in January 2014 and specialises in all aspects of family law, including divorce cases, financial proceedings, private children matters, and cases involving domestic violence.
Although she represents clients at court when required, Natasha’s approach to family matters is conciliatory rather than litigious. She is a member of Resolution, the family law association for solicitors committed to resolving family matters fairly and amicably, and last year, Natasha qualified further as a Resolution Accredited Specialist with particular specialisms in private law children and domestic abuse.
Our Luton family team is ranked as a Tier 2 practice in the 2020 edition of the independent legal directory The Legal 500 as part of the firm’s South East family practice. Natasha will be joining director Krina Parmar in further developing the practice and expanding our presence in and around the Luton area.
On her appointment as director Natasha comments;
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to progress my career at Duncan Lewis Solicitors and am excited for the new challenge ahead.”
Olamide joined Duncan Lewis in 2017 and is based in our Leicester office. She qualified as a solicitor in 2017 and is a member of the Law Society Children Panel.
Specialising in family and child care law, Olamide has expertise in divorce cases, financial disputes, cohabitation, and private children’s matters, assisting her clients on both a privately funded and legal aid basis.
She also has extensive experience representing parties in care proceedings where concerns relate to domestic violence, neglect, non-accidental injuries, drug and alcohol misuse, and mental illness. Olamide has further expertise in assisting vulnerable clients who are victims of domestic abuse and request protective orders, often on an emergency basis.
Like Natasha, Olamide will work closely with Krina Parmar to continue to grow and develop the family and child care department in Leicester.
Olamide comments on her recent appointment as director;
“I am excited for this new opportunity that will also involve relocating and living in a new city! I am thankful to Duncan Lewis Solicitors for the assistance to progress my career and can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
We are thrilled to have Natasha and Olamide on board. Their skill-set and experience will be invaluable in the development of both our Luton and Leicester based family and child care teams, and their experience and reputation will help to maintain and expand our presence in the South East and East Midlands.
