I am a Director in the Immigration department at the Harrow office where I supervise a team of solicitors and caseworkers. I specialise in asylum work, representing victims of torture, human trafficking and gender-based persecution as well as those excluded from the protection of the Refugee Convention.
I have wide experience of litigation in the Administrative Court and Court of Appeal as well as in the First Tier and Upper Tribunals and Immigration of the Asylum Chamber where I am an effective advocate. I am committed to the access to justice for the most vulnerable in society and regularly represent detainees in their judicial review challenges against immigration detention or removal to their countries of origin or to other EU countries under the Dublin Regulation. I have established a reputation for obtaining international protection in the UK for adults and children trafficked for domestic servitude, sexual and labour exploitation and I was a founder member of ATLeP (Anti-Trafficking Legal Project) an information network of lawyers and specialist practitioners assisting victims of trafficking.
I am accredited as a Supervisor and Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme, which means that I have shown that I have specialist knowledge and experience in the area of Immigration law and can advise and assist publicly funded clients under the company's legal aid contract.
