I am working as a Caseworker at Duncan Lewis Solicitors', Public Law department under the direct supervision of Director Bahar Ata.
I am passionate and deeply inclined to Human Rights, Humanitarian, Immigration and Public areas of law. During my Immigration Paralegal experience in the UK, I have had the opportunity to come into contact with and assist in the legal representation of those refugee and asylum- seeking groups, including unaccompanied asylum seeking minors in their Immigration matters.
My previous career journey was related to legal, commercial, and administrative environments, whereby I have built legal project leading and administrative experience in non-governmental, governmental, and private organisations in different jurisdictions, such as Ethiopia, Belgium, and the UK.
It is my strongest desire to represent vulnerable groups by serving their best interests and to become part of the solution in their endeavour to address complex legal problems they encounter. This could be achieved through my legal background, personal attributes of commitment to clients and advising and communication experience.
I am accredited as a Senior Caseworker in Immigration and Asylum under the Law Society Scheme (Level 2), and this means that I would be in a position to assist clients in their asylum or other immigration matters.
I speak Amharic and English fluently. I also have a very good level of Dutch and basic French.
