Profile / Experience
I am a Caseworker in the Public Law Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors, based in the firm’s Harrow office in north-west London. I work with a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers under the supervision of Director Toufique Hossain.
I have day to day handling and case progression of a wide range of immigration, asylum and human rights matters. I have experience in cases involving the Home Office Windrush scheme. Thanks to my Arabic language skills, I represent many clients from the Middle East.
I also have experience in judicial review matters. These include challenges against the Secretary of State for the Home Department concerning issues such as unlawful detention, removals to European countries under the Dublin Conventions, removals on asylum and human rights grounds and various other challenges.
I am accredited as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker under the Law Society's Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme meaning I have demonstrated the desired level of expertise and experience in this area of law as specified by the Law Society.
I have previously undertaken legal and voluntary work placements, including at Allen & Overy LLP, the Access to Justice Foundation, the London Voluntary Service Council and Mental Health at LSE. I have worked at an LSE Alumnus think tank called Social Vision, where I regularly wrote articles on issues associated with human rights.
