I am a Caseworker in the Child Care team based in the City of London office and I work under the supervision of Director, Alia Lewis. Since joining the team, I have been representing parents in Child Protection matters from the Public Law Outline (PLO) process through to Care proceedings, initiated by Local Authorities when there are concerns for a child’s welfare. It is incredibly important for parents to receive robust legal advice, with an empathetic approach, at what is a very difficult time. My work encompasses advising parents in relation to all aspects of child care law, which often includes: section 20 agreements, section 47 investigations, concerns around substance misuse, mental health, learning difficulties, neglect, child abuse, maintaining contact with children in care and placement orders. I also assist on cases involving private child arrangements matters, Special Guardianship Orders (SGOs), Deprivation of Liberty Orders (DOLs), and non-accidental injuries.
I assist the senior solicitors within our specialist Autism and ADHD team within the Child Care department. This team focuses on protecting the rights of neurodivergent clients and spreading awareness of issues that arise in cases where neurodiverse conditions are a feature.
Previously, I worked as a family law paralegal where I represented a number of parents at PLO meetings, and had experience in cases involving international child abduction, domestic abuse, divorce and financial remedy.
