Profile / Experience
I am a Solicitor in the Mental Health department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. Over my legal career I have assisted many clients that have been detained under the Mental Health Act 1983.
I visit hospitals in order to represent clients under various sections of the Mental Health Act, and during the initial meetings with clients I am aim to put them at ease and gain their confidence through a professional and friendly approach. I offer advice and assistance to relatives on their role and their rights; advise on all aspects of the Mental Health Act including admission to hospital, consent to treatment, and aftercare provisions; and representation at Mental Health Tribunals.
My interest in mental health stems back to my early experience working in a home for elderly people with dementia prior to going to university. This experience taught to how to help those with various mental health conditions.
