I am a Solicitor in the Public Law department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors.
I conduct a variety of judicial review matters involving:
- Unlawful detention
- Human trafficking and modern slavery
- Fresh claim challenges
- Unlawful denial of appeal rights
- False imprisonment
I specialise in cases involving the deportation of foreign offenders and in cases involving vulnerable individuals such as those who are victims of trafficking and gender based violence. I also have extensive experience of immigration and human rights applications, including domestic violence cases and asylum applications.
Notable cases include challenging the detention of an EEA national who had been detained on grounds of public order due to criminal offences committed as a result of his being trafficked. I also successfully appealed the deportation of an Algerian national who had been in the UK for over 30 years. More recently I challenged a decision by the Home Office to reject the asylum claim of an EEA national who is a victim of trafficking. I also regularly represent clients in damages claims for false imprisonment in the County Court.
