I have recently joined the Public Law department at Duncan Lewis as a Caseworker, based in the City of London office. My interests lie in human rights, immigration and asylum and refugee matters. I am eager to handle cases concerning issues such as removals on asylum and human rights grounds and providing challenges to decisions made by the Home Office. I will be taking instructions on a wide range of asylum and refugee matters under legal aid, and I'm currently studying for the Level 1 Trainee Casework Assistant Exam.
At university I wrote dissertations focused on the plight of Tamil civilians during the Sri Lankan Civil War and the role of the law in their mistreatment, as well as on Sri Lankan Tamil militant group dynamics. I am also a native speaker of the Tamil language. With my academic background in human rights, I am excited to embark on my new career at the firm and help represent some of the most vulnerable members of society.
