Profile / Experience
I am a trainee solicitor - presently in my second seat - in the public law department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I am based in the Harrow office where I work with a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers. As a trainee, I am supervised by director, Alex Peebles.
My work involves assisting the team with challenging decisions made by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), including VAT flat rate scheme and income tax disputes.
In my first seat, I dealt with Court of Protection matters under supervision of Helen Cummings. My work predominantly involved acting on behalf of vulnerable individuals (through the Official Solicitor) under sections 16 and 21A of the Mental Capacity Act 2005. Such cases entailed court’s considerations in terms of individuals’ capacity to conduct proceedings, make decisions about their residence, care and contact.
