Profile / Experience
I am a Consultant Solicitor in the Immigration Department at Duncan Lewis.
I specialise in providing immigration/asylum appeals advocacy representation for detained and non-detained foreign nationals at all proceedings in the First and Upper Tier Tribunal of the Immigration Asylum Chamber. I am experienced in appeals against decisions relating to asylum, points based scheme, entry clearance, leave to remain, citizenship deprivation and all EU matters under the EEA Regulations.
Although my work is concentrated on publicly funded clients with a particular focus on asylum seekers and detainees, I am also actively involved in the Detained Asylum Casework representation of detained clients held at both Harmondsworth and Yarlswood Immigration Detention Centres.
I have significant experience dealing with vulnerable clients including those in detention, those suffering from complex psychological issues and victims of torture, trafficking, sexual abuse and slavery.
I have an enhanced CRB disclosure certificate and with this, I regularly represent minors and unaccompanied asylum seeking children with their asylum and immigration matters, including attending Home Office Asylum Substantive Interviews and advising on the same.
I am accredited under the Law Society's Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme as a Senior Caseworker and a Supervisor. I dealt with clients from many different countries and backgrounds and have fluent knowledge of Hindi, Urdu and the Sindhi language.
