Profile / Experience
I am a Consultant Solicitor in the Immigration Department at Duncan Lewis Solicitors. I specialise in asylum, nationality and general migration matters and regularly represent vulnerable clients detained at immigration detention centres throughout the country with their asylum casework or immigration detention issues.
My life long ambition was to practice as a Solicitor dealing mainly with the welfare of women and children and the rights of abused women within the different social and ethnic groups in Malaysia. However my interest had to be initially diverted to raising a family of three sons, one of whom is autistic. Nevertheless, with my driving ambition, I eventually graduated with an external degree in Law from the University of London in 1990.
I have 22 years of experience in dealing with Asylum and vulnerable clients from various countries, namely, Algeria, Kosova, Eritrea, Burundi, Sri Lanka, Palestine and Syria. I am actively involved with the local Algerian, Afghan and Eritrean communities throughout London, I worked extensively with the Kosovan community during the Kosovan/Serbian conflict. I have regularly dealt with those in detention, others suffering from complex psychological issues and those who were victims of torture and trafficking. Many of my cases involved removals to European Countries under the Dublin Regulations, Human Rights and Bail applications.

I am an accredited Level 2 Senior Caseworker and Supervisor under the Law Society’s Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme. This allows me to provide specialist publicly funded legal help to vulnerable clients in all aspects of Immigration and Asylum work under the firm’s legal aid franchise. I have undertaken pro-bono work with certain charities over the years.
