Profile / Experience
I am a Solicitor and Supervisor within the Mental Health Department at Duncan Lewis. I undertake my own caseload as well as supervise caseworkers within the department. I deliver training on this area to members within our team on a regular basis.
I specialise in advising clients on their mental health law matters and represent patients detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the 2007 Act) at First-Tier Mental Health Tribunals and at Hospital Managers' Hearings in addition to all other aspects of treatment whilst in hospital. I am authorised to represent clients under a legal aid contract who are detained under the Mental Health Act before all relevant tribunals throughout England or Wales.
I am an accredited Mental Health Panel Member which means I have demonstrated my specialist knowledge and experience in relation to the representation of patients in all proceedings before the first-tier tribunal (mental health) under the Mental Health Act as defined by the Law Society.
