I am a Director of Immigration and Head of Department at the Luton office. I supervise a team of solicitors, trainees and caseworkers, at the Harrow, Leicester and Birmingham offices, all dedicated to representing the most vulnerable in society. I have over 18 years of experience in immigration and asylum law.
My work is concentrated on publicly funded clients with a particular focus on advising clients on immigration law, practice and policy, as well as coordinating and managing delivery of services to clients across multiple jurisdictions. My experience covers all aspects of immigration, nationality, asylum and human rights law with emphasis on asylum-seekers, other vulnerable immigrants, deportation cases, minors, victims of torture and victims of trafficking. I have extensive experience in dealing with Judicial Review matters, detained asylum cases, bail applications, entry clearance applications, and conducting appeals against adverse decisions to the First-tier/Upper Tribunal of the Immigration Asylum Chamber. I have considerable experience of conducting advocacy before the Immigration Tribunals and am a member of the Law Society ILPA and the Refugee Council.
I have been involved in a number of claims for Judicial Review matters, representing claimants in cases concerning administrative detention, injunctive relief against removal and various other challenges to the policies of the Secretary of State.
I have an enhanced CRB status, which permits me to represent unaccompanied asylum seeking children. I am also accredited under the Law Society IAAS as a Senior Level 2 Caseworker and Supervisor, this allows me to provide specialist legal representation under the firm's Legal Aid franchise.
I am fluent in Gujarati.
