Profile / Experience
I am a Trainee Solicitor in the Housing Department at Duncan Lewis.
I have significant experience in a wide range of housing issues such as, assisting clients with their homelessness, possession, disrepair and eviction matters. I have significant experience and success in challenging the suitability of temporary accommodations; clients that are found not to be in priority need or intentionally homeless and requesting accommodation pending the review.
I have experience in carrying out Private, Legal Help and Legal Aid work.
I am equally capable of representing clients face to face or via a remote service where it is appropriate. Having supervised the company's Housing Civil Legal Advice line, I have extensive experience in representing clients UK-wide and handling their instructions on an exclusively remote basis through non face to face communications such as Skype, Telephone and Email.
I also have significant experience in providing specialist advice on Housing Law as part of the Civil Legal Advice helpline. I take part in the Pro Bono sessions on Tuesdays.
For those who have difficulties communicating in English, I am fluent in the Bengali language and the Sylheti dialect. I can also converse in Hindi and Urdu.
