I joined the Family and Child Care Department in November 2022 as a Child Care Solicitor, based at the firms' Croydon office. I work under the supervision of Family & Child Care Director, Kathy Walker.
I qualified as in 2020 and was admitted to The Law Society in 2021.
Since qualifying, I have successfully assisted clients in achieve their desired outcome in matters involving domestic abuse, divorce, child arrangements.
With domestic violence victims, I work collaboratively with their supporting agencies to obtain the desired outcome for our clients.
Mostly I represent parents in Child Care Proceedings under the Legal Aid Scheme and I occasionally assist privately funded clients with child contact arrangements. I draft document LOI to experts in child care matters and also I have had to apply to the court for my client to have an intermediary assist with court proceedings.
Most recently on a successful note, on behalf of a local authority, I represented a client who lives outside of the UK in a child care proceedings involving Female Genital Mutilation. This role came to me because I speak the same language as their client and I was able to understand and interpret some of the documents in English.
I work with clients from various ethnic background, and I engage the services of interpreters where needed.
I enjoy advocacy work which includes DJ, DDJ and Magistrates in family court proceedings.
