HN and SA (Afghanistan) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2016] EWCA Civ 123; a claim brought by 25 Afghan men who feared return to armed conflict in their home country, where a historic generic injunction preventing removal to Afghanistan was granted by the Court of Appeal which caused the suspension of removals by charter flight to Afghanistan.
High Court
R (EB) v Director of Legal Aid Casework [2026] EWHC 402 (Admin); a case bought on behalf of a woman suffering with anorexia who benefitted from participation in a medical trial of psilocybin, who sought legal aid to make an unprecedented application to the Home Office for a licence under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 to allow her to be administered psilocybin by medical professionals (it is otherwise a schedule A drug).
Mooge, R (On the Application Of) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2018] EWHC 427 (Admin);
a case challenging detention on the basis of mistaken identity and where there was no effective deportation order in place.
