Profile / Experience

I am a Caseworker in the Public Law and Court of Protection departments. I am a qualified lawyer in Israel and currently in the process of taking the cross qualification exams to become a solicitor in England and Wales. I specialise in Court of Protection, Human Rights law, media and data law, and criminal justice.

I first joined Duncan Lewis as a caseworker in the Risk and Compliance department where I assisted the board with regulatory law matters and data protection matters. I have dealt with complaints regarding quality of service, complaints to the ICO, data breaches and data subject requests under GDPR.

My work in the Court of Protection department includes matters relating to health and welfare including: residence, care, and contact disputes. I also specialise in property and finance matters which include applications for property and affairs deputyship as well as challenging such applications on grounds of capacity or best interests.

I have acted for incapacitated clients through their Litigation Friend (including the Official Solicitor, RPRs and IMCAs) and I have also acted for family members involved in these proceedings.

Prior to my work at Duncan Lewis I gained significant experience in criminal justice work, notably criminal defence (in particular miscarriages of justice) and prison law. I have carried out my training contract equivalent in Israel at the Public Defender’s Office which is the criminal legal aid department at the Israeli Ministry of Justice. As part of this position I was the Trainee of the Deputy Chief Public Defender. My work there included assisting the Chief Public Defender and his deputy in policy commissions and legislation discussions at the Ministry of Justice, writing and reviewing of criminal appeals to the Supreme Court, representing clients in the Magistrates' Courts (including advocacy), taking part of the office’s unique Retrial Department (similar to the CCRC and part of the Innocence Network), and developing the Holistic Legal Services Project (inspired by the Bronx Defenders).
